YouTube Issues?
Anyone seeing You Tube issues at the moment?
Started getting flaky streaming, switched to my O2 line (didn't realise I was on VM until the streaming went wrong) and all fine.
Not the first time I've had flaky streaming via my 50Mbit recently. iPlayer, Sky Player, Demand 5 and 4 OD have all been flaky over the past few days via my VM line. All fine via O2.

Re: YouTube Issues?
Yes, thought it was just the usual peak time - kids off school - throttling from YouTube's side.

Re: YouTube Issues?
I've been noticing trouble with YouTube for a few weeks now. On my friends O2 line, no buffering issues at all, on my other friends Virgin line, same trouble as me.

Re: YouTube Issues?
Streaming trouble here too.
Buffers about 10 seconds properly, then stops, then buffers about 1 min or something later.

Re: YouTube Issues?
Nice bit of evidence of the issue on the attached image. First an attempt to stream via VM, all over the place, then the exact same file via O2, the initial buffering burst then a nice smooth constant stream.

Re: YouTube Issues?
Yes, I currently are having youtube issues.
I've tried changing my DNS servers to OpenDNS but it didn't work with my gaming very well, so I changed to GOOGLE'S OWN DNS SERVERS!
They're at
8.8.8.8
and
8.8.4.4
if you wanted to know.
My overall webbrowsing is very fast, this page loads extremely fast and other pages do too. It's only youtube. Even the lowest quality videos load extremely slowly at times. Sometimes it can be ok, but normally it can be quite slow

Re: YouTube Issues?
just tried mine and seems fine.
Take into account tho how many millions of users are online using that site at the same time. Its much like facebook it can get bogged down at times.

Re: YouTube Issues?
Getting some really slow loading times on youtube as well. Pingplotter shows that there are big latency spikes starting as soon as the packet leaves VM's network. On 10MB in Birmingham.
It happens on OpenDNS and Google DNS for me.

Re: YouTube Issues?
Yeah it's been flaky for weeks for me, pretty much unwatchable. Also on 50Mbit.
Though I can still get the full 50 meg when downloading from newsgroups and such.

It's down for me at this moment in time. Anyone else seeing the "Http/1.1 Service Unavailable"?
