Re: Some VM email accounts are dead!
Gotta laugh (you'll cry if you don't) my other emails have now gone down and I cannot log in to the emails through the 'SelfCare' thingy.
I guess there must be a lot of work going on with the email systems at the moment!?

Re: Some VM email accounts are dead!
To access my NTL e mail I used a forwarding address which works and let me log in to forward my messages. I still cannot access my NTL e mail directly!
After giving up with phone calls to technical support who kept telling me to restart my set top box and router, then told me that they had a problem and didn't know how long it would take to fix it.
I wrote a letter to Swansea and received a phone call telling me that technical would contact me to resolve the problem...they never rang!
They sent me a letter, but no contact telephone number!
At the moment I cannot access my account (it has been suspended!!) cannot access my e mail directly, and cannot access my broadband extras. Broadband, TV and Phone works fine. This has lasted five weeks!
You need to sort it VM or i'm going to Sky!

10 days later I'm still waiting. I've now had no email for nearly four weeks. I keep pestering support but no-one seems able to get this resolved - I just keep getting the same old answer (it's still with support, cannot offer a timescale, apologies etc).
Is there anyone here that can offer me a glimpse of what the problem is and why it's taking so long to sort out?

I think I have pretty much already answered your questions further back in this thread.
I would say again that in all likelihood they have been deleted and you should try to restore them if possible in https://selfcare.blueyonder.co.uk/, but not tonight as it is down again but this time for a Major upgrade, best to try tomorrow.

Re: Some VM email accounts are dead!
An update on my email problems.
All my email accounts came back to life a couple of days ago after a month of being broken. I'd made a few phonecalls before the weekend and spoke to support who promised they'd get them sorted by the 8th. Apparently they've got a huge list of email accounts to sort out following a less-than-successful move to a new system (?).
No emails lost, all accounts working again. Sadly all this was overshadowed by the gas company cutting through my cable on the main road the week before last. No internet, tv or phone for 8 days
What a month

Did they(the gas company) offer any recompense?

We've not really had chance to get any compensation for this yet as we went on holiday the day after they fixed it. I was going to ring VM and ask them if we can get some sort of refund - presumably they'd just re-charge it to the gas company for the work they had to do?
Fair play to VM. They came out the day after we reported it to assess the damage. I spoke to CS the day after and they explained it would take about a week because they had to put a request in to the council to dig up the path (even though there was a hole already ). They gave me a time it would be sorted out by and as promised it was back up and running, new cable installed from the road to the house. It took us a while to work out where they'd laid the cable as the driveway hadn't been touched ( it was under the fence)
I'll give VM a ring in the morning and see what the situation is.
