Reboot & try again. If you still get the message, uninstall winpcap, reinstall it, reboot then try again.
Done that.

Same result I'm afraid

Hmmm, I can only guess that your NIC isn't supported by winpcap. If you know what it is, see if it's listed here...

Success of sorts!

Was connecting wirelessly so tried wired and got the following which does not seem to be any help either.

By the way I'm still able to access my website

Re: Is my website being blocked?

It may be trying the wrong interface.

Do tracetcp -l (that's lowercase L) to list the available interfaces.

Then tracetcp 80.82.140.240 - i n

where n is the number reported for your wired NIC from the -l command

Not having much luck

Microsoft(R) Windows DOS

C:\DOCUME~1\BRIAN>tracetcp -l
-l is not a valid command option.

Re: Is my website being blocked?

Sorry, they seem to have removed that option on the latest version. I've downloaded it & am in XP now so can see what's going on. Try disabling your wireless NIC in network connections then try again.

Re: Is my website being blocked?

Its actually a USB wireless adapter, tried again anyway as you suggested but sadly with same results - timed out on each of the 30 hops.

Well, I'm out of suggestions I'm afraid. I've disabled my wireless NIC, gone wired into my router & I get:

Code:
tracetcp 80.82.140.240

Tracing route to 80.82.140.240 [cpanel4.uk.othellotech.net] on port 80

In fact I can even use tracert to get there

Re: Is my website being blocked?

What does tracert give you now that the site is working?

Re: Is my website being blocked?

Right it might now be sorted ????

I suspected that I was being forced through a dodgy proxy somehow, anyway what I did was enter webcache.virginmedia.com and port 8080 into my firefox settings and hey presto my site re-appeared.

Just to test things I loaded IE (without the proxy setting) and nothing.

So although everything pointed to me not having a proxy, it looks as though there was one intercepting somehow (don't ask me how I'm no techie)

I've also got the opendns settings as my name server and that is also working in conjuction with the virgin proxy (thought it might not)

Obviously I'd rather have no proxy but this will do nicely for now, as long as it works!!

Ahh the solution does work for viewing my websites BUT uploading files to them is still sporadic, as is accessing my cpanel accounts using my browser.

Given that the addition of webcache.virginmedia.com as my proxy server solved my normal viewing difficulties can anyone suggest anything to solve the other anomolies (apart from moving away from virgin, which is crossing my mind ever more frequently as time goes by)
