Modem replacement

I have no problems with my Internet service, however I feel like my modem is on it's way out.

I've got the NTL 100 modem and have had it for about 8 years.
In the past whenever it was switched on it would take approximately less than a minute to be ready.
Now, it takes about 5 minutes, and sometimes will never connect up until it is turned off and on again.
This never used to happen.

This means that I have to wait a while before I can fire up my router and computer to surf the net.

Is there a quick way I could have a new modem sent to me in the post, especially since this one is getting old too.
Anyone know if it's easy to get a replacement?

Thanks,

halcyon.

i had a problem like this.
phone your isp and get them to reset your account, this will reset the modem and give it another isp number. it solved it for me

Re: Modem replacement

eh? what on earth do you mean by 'reset your account'?

Getting a different IP address or even moving the modem onto a different UBR will not solve a failing modem

To the OP, yes if tech support identify you need a new modem, they will sent you one out via a courier which you will get within 3 days

Re: Modem replacement

Thanks.

I don't think I really need my account reset as it is working.

I guess giving them a call is my best bet.
