NTL e-mail address with Virgin Media

Two weeks ago this very day we changed over to cable with Virgin Media.

I was most surprised to receive an ntlworld.com e-mail address.

From Virgin.net broadband I had a virgin.net e-mail address so expected a flash new Virgin.media address!!!

It has always puzzled me as to why they didn't change email addys when it was taken over, probably easier for the masses to keep email addys as they are, just imagine how many customers would have to have notified countless contacts, it would have been bedlam.

Plan is (was?) you'd have the option to keep it anyway.

yes they are still using the legacy email adresses.

I dont think its been mentioned before in this thread, but if there is a joe.bloggs@blueyounder.com and a joe.bloggs@ntlworld.com. Which one gets the virginmedia.com address?

If you run a business wouldn't you be better off buying a domain name and having your email attached to that anyway?

I wouldn't use my ntlworld address for my business. Very unprofessional and a spam magnet! lol
