Re: outlook sending problem
Does it only do this with your Blueyonder account or do you have other accounts that run through this and have a similar error ?
Are you using imap or pop3 for this ?

Re: outlook sending problem
Cant see anything on Microsoft technet for this code with Outlook, but it is mentioned for configuration manager where it mentions out of cache. :- http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb632794.aspx
Dont know if MS error codes are consistent across apps. Which version of outlook are you using , if its pre 2007 you could try an upgrade ? Backup your files before attempting this though in case it goes wrong. If your on 2000 try upgrading to 2003.
Are you able to try outlook express and see if it has the same problem, id try that before an upgrade ?

Re: outlook sending problem
Your IP suggests you are on Sky, yet you are trying to send via a blueyonder account
You need authentication if you are to send via the blueyonder account from a non blueyonder ISP connection. That in fact doesn't always work correctly. The best way of sending email is to use the server provided by your current ISP.

Re: outlook sending problem
If your in-laws are on a Sky broadband account & you have a Blueyonder account then this may be the problem...

Re: outlook sending problem
Can you not use your webmail?
(sorry - not a BY user so don't know the webmail link).
Possibly: http://www.virginmedia.com/customers/emailgateway.php

Re: outlook sending problem
Change the send server details to the sky smtp server, leave all else including your email addy at their blueyonder details. When you send, if someone looks at the headers they will see the blueyonder address for the reply but know it came via Sky.

Re: outlook sending problem
ok tried smtp.sky.com
all other details remain the same I get an error back saying
Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

Try smtp. tools.sky.com, herc.
All of Sky's email was outsourced to Google from early February so you may need to check the rest of the email settings.
There's an good unofficial step-by-step guide for Outlook 2003 on the SkyUser forums.
And an official one (with a guide for Outlook Express) available as a pdf from the Sky website.
