email address migration

Hi all

I am the owner of TWO ntlworld primary email accounts. For the purposes of this thread I shall refer to them as Account #1 & Account #2.

I want to stop using Account #1 but would like to migrate the 2 additional mailboxes it has to the Account #2.

Just in case you were wondering....

I used to be a broadband set-top-box customer which is when the Account #1 was created but when I upgraded to the VIP package (with separate cablemodem) I chose to take my old dial-up (Account #2) account as my primary
account.

I have asked this question on virginmedia.support.e-mail newsgroup and was advised that I "should be able to remove them from that account and then add them again to the other account".

If I were to delete the 2 additional mailboxes from Account #1 (using Email Account Management) would I be able to grab them straight away?

Thanks in advance

roughneck

Tech support would need to migrate those addresses for you.

Re: email address migration

Are mailboxes on ntl the same as the ones on blueyonder?

mailbox 1
ab001c1234
Alias 1
Alias 2
Alias 3
mailbox 2
ab001c1234_2
Alias 1
Alias 2
Alias 3
mailbox 3
ac001c1234_3
Alias 1
Alias 2
Alias 3
etc?
If so, I was under the impression these couldn't be
migrated without wiping out the mailboxes on the 2nd account.
But you can delete the Aliases on the first account and
add them to 2nd account.

Re: email address migration

All depends if you ex-ntl or ex-telewest, if your ex-ntl, tech support needs to do it for you, if your ex-telewest you can do via selfcare, but either way, whoever you speak to in tech support should be able to do it for you..

Edit - Just looked at your location, your ex-ntl, you'l need to speak to tech support...

No, different.

On ex NTL you get 1 primary email account, and up to 14 additional and seperate mailboxes.

On ex TW you get 5 primary accounts, with three aliases per account.

Nothing has changed at the moment. There was talk about VM looking at a combined email service controlled by a third party, but I've seen nothing more on this to be honest.
