Unhappy Strange problem with Windows Mail

I cannot send emails to myself in Windows Mail, sorry, correction, I can send them, they appear in my 'sent items' box, but I never receive them. I also can't send emails to my web-based account (through Windows Mail), although I can receive emails from that account (if that makes sense). Is there some way I can enable this function please?

Re: Strange problem with Windows Mail

Do you have any junk filters enabled? I'm not too familiar with Windows Mail, but some programmes junk filters will block messages appearing to be from yourself.

I know this maybe doesn't help you, but I personally stick with Mozilla Thunderbird no matter what O/S I happen to be using, be it XP/Vista/Linux

Hello Cobs, I am laughing to myself, but I am having all sorts of problems, probably due to my ignorance (OK I'm not proud lol). I decided to go to my web-based (Sky) account and see what was happening there; I found that POP forwarding was disabled, so I thought I would try enabling it, and voila! 946 messages started downloading into Windows Mail lol, I kid you not! I have since started deleting them, but now Windows Mail has stopped working, and who can blame it! Hopefully things will right themselves, after it has had a rest eh? Will just have to keep an eye on things, and see how things pan out. Thanks once again for your help!!

I seem to remember I tried Thunderbird some time ago Zeph, but there must have been some problem for me to cease using it. I will bear it in mind if I continue to have problems with WM.

I prefer my various webMAIL ....and i have enough feMALES aready to keep me on my toes.I aint trying anymore.......ever

Seriously though,i do occasionally use Thunderbird for chatting s*** elsewhere but the actual emailing is generally just the VM one online for personal/private matters with the Gmail/Hotmail for the all the rest.
Sometimes i have them all setup in Thunderbird but then things change quite often with my boxes of wires and i always forget some App,setting or config preference of some sort
Being a complete noob when i first signed up 2 years ago though i did`nt really know any better and sooon ended up with zillions of dubious emails in my old STB`s account/email.
In fact,i still have that STB and the email account......the last time i cleaned all the complete junk out was about a month or two ago but...
Attachment 15811

Needless to say i learned my lesson and by time we upgraded to the SACM with it`s new account i knew a wee bit better

I couldn't delete them Cobs, I tried 'sellect all' and delete, but got a message saying 'an error has occurred'. After a great deal of trial and error, and Googling. I found that I could delete by starting with the oldest email and working upwards (I sort descending). This worked for all bar 1, which is refusing to budge. It's almost as annoying as having the 397 still there! I have at the back of my mind I had this problem before, but was it with my old XP computer? I think it was update KB941090 (I already have this update on this computer) that fixed it, but I am not sure. The old grey cells are not what they were sigh!!! Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
