Meant to get 55mb only get 35mb webspace?

It says you have 55mb of webspace, but as usual ntl does it again and only gives me 35mb. And they wonder why they are top of the worst complaints! How can I get the 55mb? I dont want to ring up Im tired of ringing ntl for things. *sigh*

What makes you think you've only got 35MB?

Because it wont let me upload anymore and my ftp program says 35mb on the server. It only has 35mb like I said.

Perhaps there is another reason why you can't upload other than you have reached the available limit?

You're given 55mb space when your account is created - if it hasn't been provisioned properly ntl will reprovision it. However, nothing's going to happen unless you call ntl.

And it's debatable even if you do

Seriously, sitting there isn't going to make it come back - go through the motions, get fobbed off by some muppet that doesn't understand what webspace is and eventually get through to the one person who understands...and they'll sort it for you.

Just out of interest, have you ever changed the username of your webspace?

Re: Meant to get 55mb only get 35mb webspace?

I shouldnt have to phone up everytime ntl dont do what they state. It took me 3 days and about 5 phone calls just to upgrade to 1mb recently. When I first got 1mb years ago it didnt work for 1 month and they said it did. Ntl are shocking! Ive had ntl since it started up cable in my area and had this account since then for the netspace. Its crap anyway as it doesnt update the pages very quick when you upload.

ntl is just so great and easy to use. I was going to buy a host anyway as obviously I wouldnt use ntl for anything important as they'll only **** it up. But still youre meant to have 55mb yet I dont. And I personally think no existing customer gets upgraded. It used to only be 15mb when it came out, so they have updated it to 35mb but not to 55mb. I wonder if anyone gets 55mb at all and really gets 35mb and you have to ask for 55mb. Its not unheard of, a crappy company used to do a similar thing where they said "20mb" but it was 10mb and you had to ask for extra, (that you never got) years and years ago that was mind.

I've managed to store just over 50mb on my webspace so it must be a problem with your account

No, you shouldn't have to, but as ntl are not mind-readers unless you tell them there is a problem it won't get sorted. In the time you've spent saying how much you don't want to call them, you could have called them and possibly got it sorted by now.
