Collating data to send to ntl

Hi just to let everyone know I am collating data together to send to ntl listing and describing problems that are caused by the proxies, the aim is not for them to be fixed as unreported new problems will only take their place, the aim is to have the proxies removed from forcefully intercepting port 80 traffic as they are an ongoing permanent problem.

NTL are unlikely to consider this if only 1 person such as myself lists just my own problem sites so I would like to ask others to list here the following information.

1 - Problem website url.
2 - Description of problem.
3 - Confirmation it works with other isp/own proxy.
4 - Area of service.
5 - Broadband tier.
6 - If speed problem or other type of problem.
7 - Switching proxy fixes yes/no/temporary.
8 - any other relevant information.

Thanks.

Nothing like attempting mission impossible. ntl have spent a lot of money installing new proxy servers in the last 12 months, do you really think they will entertain removing them ?

I probably wont get anywhere but I am interested to see their reaction. They can keep the proxies but just disable the forcefully using them thats what I am after.

If people reported problems with proxies to tech support they are logged and escalated.... so general appeal

please report proxy problems to ntl! If they don't know about them, they cannot fix them!

If you don't fancy phoning, here is the link to the online form

Re: Collating data to send to ntl

was reading this post and remember i have problem accessing a website
does this look like a proxy problem:

"Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Apache/2.0.46 (Red Hat) Server at www.ipodlounge.com Port 80"

strange thing is i can access it via google then "cache" then "current page"

another problem cause of the proxies??

the online contact page gave me this

"An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator."

I understand what you saying Chris but there is so many problems with the proxies it is a constant round of reporting them and hoping they get fixed. There is also reported problems that remain unfixed such as yahoo and hotmail, and the speed issues with proxies that have incorrect rwin values.

The only way I can see giving feedback to NTL is online since when I ring up tech support are not interested in feedback, if bbc.co.uk works they think thats their job done, this is my repeated experience I am sorry if thats not the same as others. Is their a specific phone number for feedback?
