Howdy



I got a bit of a teky problem and wonder if any of you guys can help me out?



I’m have just started to build a new web site. I have only ever work’t with html before but want to do this new one with PHP and MySQL. I want to use the program PHP-Nuke so began installing it on some web space I bought. The problem arose we I tried to load the database for PHP-Nuke in the mySQL. When I tried to access myPHPadmin thro the web space providers control panel I could not connect to the sever myPHPadmin was on. I contacted the space providers and they assured me everything was ok their end and maybe I was behind some sort of firewall preventing me from accessing it. So I shut down all firewalls installed and connected the computer start in to the cabal modem its usually go’s thro a Belkin 4-port router). Unforchanetly this didn’t make a blind bit of deferens. So I tested to see if it was just my connection by putting a test page up at (the ftp works fine)

Which I can not connect to. I got a friend to view it and of cores he could connect to it fine and could access the myPHPadmin :-( he was using a dial up 56K BT modem and I figer it must be the ntl modem that’s blocking connection. I tried to access the modems options to see if it has a firewall or is in stealth mode or something but I don’t know the password to get in to the options on

has anyone seen anything like this problem before and/or maybe can suggest a solution?

1) to the site.

2) Make sure you've rebooted the PC & the cable modem now that you have plugged the PC into it (as opposed to the router)

[Edit]-I preume you have connected the PC to the modem via ethernet, yes?

The modem doesnt have any kind of firewall. If you can get to other sites, there should be no reason why you cant get to this one.

There is nothing on the cable modem that will stop you accessing the site properly. Just fyi the username and password are both "root" (no quotes)

I can get to your "test" page ok from here, and can login to myphpadmin on a number of different sites that i host through an ntl connection....

Just did a quick re-boot to make shore but still cant get that test page up and yes its connected via ethernet

I can see your test page from here as well, and that's a miracle 'cause there are more places that I can't see than those that I can from where I am at the moment
