Vanishing emails

Has anyone else noticed a sharp drop in their email activity over the past week or so?

I generally get about a dozen mails a day, mostly redirected from my account at the remailer Bigfoot and doubled up to ntlworld and my office.

However, while plenty of mail is arriving aplenty at the office virtually nothing is making it to my ntlworld address.

More to the point, I contacted customer support by email (disillusioned by the long wait on the phone and the even longer wait for Broadband Medic) but left my Bigfoot address as the contact mail address, as it's my main address. Surprise, surprise the automatic reply from ntlworld turned up in my office account but not the ntlworld one.

So... why doesn't ntlworld like Bigfoot and why don't they tell me where all the mail has gone?

Re: Vanishing emails

Well now you come to mention it, yes I have noticed less emails coming through than normal...but I've just sent myself 12 test messages from three different webmail services and they all arrived straight away....

...maybe the spammers are all on holiday!

Ken, there have been issues with Bigfoot logged in the past, eg: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=21218

Re: Vanishing emails

I have noticed far less mail than usual arriving during the past week. I have one email account that has failed to authenticate for around the same length of time that I have emailed broadband support about. Had the automatic response some days ago but no further communication or resolution.

Re: Vanishing emails

Someone did mention NTL had introduced spam filters and virus scanning... could this be related? Perhaps it took a while to kick in...

edit: I use a different service for my email as NTL's was always very flaky when I wanted to use it so I can't say I have seen the reduction in emails of late.
