Manchester Proxy changes?

NTL seem to be in the process of changing the proxies especially in Manchester usually the web proxy starts like:-

cache1-mant.server.ntli.net

Thats now changed to:-

manc-cache-1.server.ntli.net

Anyone else from Manchester noticed this? I was getting 'Website can not be found' earlier quite a lot.

Re: Manchester Proxy changes?

Seems to go from manc-cache-1.server.ntli.net through to manc-cache-14.server.ntli.net, seems ntl have added an extra 4 to the manchester proxy list.

Yes, the only ones that are still active seem to be

cache1-bagu.server.ntli.net
cache2-bagu.server.ntli.net

I normally used cache7-mant.server.ntli.net, but this stopped working on Saturday morning and pinging any in the range from 1 to 9 revealed absolutely nada. I had assumed that ntl had stopped customers from changing to any proxies other than those that are auto assigned e.g. for me it is usually either of the Baguley caches.

If all that has changed is the naming convention, then I will give this a go tonight to get back onto my usual proxy. My avg ping to my normal (cache7-mant) proxy is ~ 7ms!
