for the purposes of NTL/Telewest cable TV, using them on the network to obtain stuff you've not paid for is very illegal, it's theft and possibly fraud.

Also if you havew paid for the service you'd like to decrypt with the hardware, then NTL/telewest will all ready have provided you with the needed hardware.

So whichever way you look it at it buying a descrambler/decryptor is a complete waste of time

Edit: can i also remind people that the FCC is an American regulatory body, it's regulation do not apply to the UK
