I was offered
2MB BB @ 12.50 for 12 months
Free TU24 for 6 months
For a total cost of 43.25 - which I expect to be a saving of about £30+ per month for 6 months (£180)
Not a bad payout for a 30 min call

Or it wouldn't have been if that's what i'd got.
My 2Mb BB was for 6 months and my TU24 was for 3 months - not a major problem, I'll just ring them up again in a couple of months to extend - or leave whichever takes their fancy
The MAJOR issue was this....
Firstly, they performed a part-month upgrade to TU24. Although they added the discount from the beginning of the next month, they failed to add the discount for the remainder of the current month - so my "Free" 3 month TU24 actually ended up consting me money. This was quickly solved with a call to CS - though i'll have to pay it and get an account credit, meaning that this month's bill is actually considerably MORE expensive than before I called......... (partially due to the details below)
More difficult was the fact that instead of upgrading my 1Mb to 2Mb, they added 2Mb to my bill and left the 1Mb on there too - so I was paying 12.50 for half price 2Mb, PLUS 17.99 for 1Mb ..... Doh.
On the initial call to CS where I sorted out the TU24 rebate, I also got them to address this. 2 hours later my internet access died completely. My router picked up a 10.0.0.0 IP address, but the registration page refused to accept my PID. After being bounced between Tech services and CS for about 45 mins, I was eventulaly told that TS needed to send a refresh to my STB to re-enable the broadband access. (why can't TS do this? - seems like a standard fix) I suspect that removing the 1Mb from my account sent a "disable" signal, even though the 2Mb was still on my account.
So, lessons learned
1) Ensure you check your bill after discounts have been "applied"
2) Some problems can be resolved by getting CS to send a refresh to your STB
3) prepare .gif file, clearly indicating the relative size and position of **** and elbow for CS - they appear to need one.
