The loop aerials are hopeless, no amount of boosting can hide the fact that if it's not being picked up to begin with, you can't add it in - and that's where these loop aerials fail (gain).

For me - it would have to be the high-gain though that really should be outside. If you must have a set-top get a low-noise booster if needed, with a good one like the one I'm using to power my PVR card and freeview box, the Telecam TCE2000.
