As long as the heat is directed away from the plasma, I don't think there will be a problem.
One thing that caught a friend of mine out though is that he bought a plasma, got someone in to install it. The installer took one look at the wall, said "No way that'll take the wieght" and quoted him to build a support structure behind the wall (it was an internal wall though). I don't think it's because Plasma's are heavy, more that they concentrate the wieght on a relatively small area.
