I don't have that problem. They know they have something missing from the equation as it does not add up. They are sure what the total is but need more time to find the parts.

Take a sponge cake.... you can see that there is certain ingredients that go into it but the size is bigger than those ingredients started off as so something else must be there. In this case its air but its not obvious from the start until you explore it.
