You can get a bypass fitted that will let you record these analogue channels. However, it does not seem likely that NTL will continue to broadcast analogue for much longer (Telewest will be stopping at the end of this year).

I do not know, but why do you need a VHS recorder - I think these will die out pretty quickly.
