Pepoe seem to be missing the point that china can block access to google completly.

What google have done is complied with the chinese request in order to provide a limited service.

The US is all freedom of speech and as such cannot impose such restrictions on google. I'm sure if google had its way it would want a 100% unrestricted service in china.
