New House - BT LIne

Hello,

I went to visit a new house today and realised the house has a BT line. I know internet services are present at the property but am not sure whether they are with Virgin or BT/sub company via BT.

If the current house owner isn't with BT, how much would it cost to have the BT line activated or w.e, and receive TalkTalk services via it?

Thanks

If all the house has is a standard master phone socket, it will be connected to the BT network irrespective of which provider the current occupant uses. The connection to the alternate provider happens at the exchange. Only if the property is in a Virgin cabled area are you likely to find a separate master socket and/or coax connection for Virgin's services.

Re: New House - BT LIne

Costs anywhere between a fiver and a tenner to get a line restarted depending on your provider. If you're having broadband provisioned at the same time BT or TalkTalk/Opal can do simultaneous provisions of line and internet.
