0800 buster

I saw this website mentioned in the newspaper today - could allow free 0800 calls from a mobile, if you have inclusive minutes

www.0800buster.co.uk

I imagine it won't be long till the mobile companies block the access number

Re: 0800 buster

Yeah if you have an iphone, add the Skype App and use that to make free calls to freephone numbers. You will need decent 3G coverage to use it.

If you have a 3 phone with built in Skype, you will not be able to make calls to UK telephone numbers apart from other Skype users and international telephone numbers including international freephone numbers.

0800-Buster will close as it is breaching Ofcom's policy on the payphone access charge. The company is making money claiming that the lines it uses is for payphone use and when you call a freephone number from a payphone, the payphone company is entitled to 8.5p per minute revenue, this is then collected from the owner of the freephone number. Therefore you should use a suitable alternative like saynoto0870.com to find the geographic number. Some companies like BT are introducing 03 numbers for those calling from mobiles.
