Tesco Mobile Questions

Hi Everyone,

When Tesco mobiles are unlocked is there any indication that it ever was locked to Tesco Mobile? i.e on start up is there a tesco mobile logo on the screen?

Are tesco mobile phone handsets branded or unbranded? Is there a tesco mobile logo on their handsets?

Cheers

Re: Tesco Mobile Questions

As far as I know, Tesco Mobile phones are locked to the Tesco Network but they don't have branded software on the phone

Re: Tesco Mobile Questions

Thank You

Do you know if they have branding on the handset?

Once again, thanks for the reply.

P.S You state that they do not have branded software on the phone therefore if I unlock the phone there will be no indication that it was ever on Tesco Mobile?

Cheers

Re: Tesco Mobile Questions

Well on the 2 phones I have had from them there has been no branding on either of them, you just have to get the settings from the provider that SIM Card you are putting into the phone for things like WAP and MMS.

most providers send the setting as soon as you bung the sim in and switch the phone on in my experience

Yeah those are the ones but as zing said when you put the SIM card in the phone, most networks sends you a text with the settings in and then you just accept them to activate them

Moved to OTHER TELCO SERVICE, mainly as I don't think many people will see this thread in the Entertainment forum

Re: Tesco Mobile Questions

I do not have a Tesco Clubcard. If I buy the phone online will the points I receive be added to my online account?

Once again, thanks to everyone for their replies.

Re: Tesco Mobile Questions

I'm not sure on that one, it depends how soon you need to get the phone, you can pop into Tesco and get a Temp clubcard and register it here http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/clubcard/register.asp

Try your local market and check out the places that do mobile accessories. My ones do this, most charge about £5 - £10

Re: Tesco Mobile Questions

They are unbranded for one simple reason, Tesco Mobile is O2 trading under the Tesco brand just like Cable and Wireless selling home phone services under the Tesco brand. Virgin Mobile however is quite independent to its network partner T-Mobile and owned by the Virgin Media group who own the right to brand mobile phones with the Virgin Group and Virgin Media logo's.
