Tracing Unknown Caller

I recieved a call, really offensive, not the usual offensive call, and threatening too. I called up 3 but they said it isn't traceable. Is there any way to trace the call? perhaps going to the police?

I get prank calls sometimes, but this one made me so angry and i want to find out who it was.

If it's a one off not much they can do, but a report to the police could mean that if it does go overboard then they can either set up a record/trace or they will at very least change your number for free..

If it was just a threatening call and the person did not seem to actually know you then it may just have been a random call and someones idea of a joke.

If it happens again just ask your provider for a new number and let all your contacts know about the change.

If it continues after the number change then it has to be one of your friends, then you can report it to the Police with a list of suspects.
