Three Boasting Network Coverage
Saw on 3's homepage today, they are boasting their coverage against O2's. Another reason for people to switch i guess, this may get them more customers.

Re: Three Boasting Network Coverage
Have u ever tried getting them to give you support? 3 have quite a number of problems in one particular part in Port Talbot in South Wales. My friends have had 3 contracts for 2 years and signed a new one last October. A few weeks after signing their signal started getting weaker and weaker at home until now they can only get signal in one room. Three stated they are aware there is a problem in the area in which they live with one of their masts and yet they still cannot get an estimated time of fix.

I meant boasting because its all over their home page, comparing against the other networks, especially they are taking advantage of O2's poor performance.

Keep calling and bothering them, call them all the time and they will fix it. I threatened to cancel if they didn't fix the signal in my area, within 1 week i was getting full bars.

Re: Three Boasting Network Coverage
O2's 3G coverage has remained the same at 50% coverage for the past few years which is why Apple may have dropped its exclusive rights to sell Iphone.
O2 may not be able to afford to roll out 3G properly, a way of combating this is to merge its 3G infrastructure with Vodafone's 3G infrastructure which is also quite behind.
T-Mobile and Hutchison 3G 3G infrastructures were merged and now trades as MBNL and serves T-Mobile and 3 customers. When Orange and T-Mobile merge there businesses together, the newly formed merged company will merge its 2G network, a majority of Orange 3G masts will be decommisioned in places where they are not needed and the remaining Orange 3G sites will go over to MBNL.
The idea of this is to save money in the long run and operate less sites.
Orange 2G will continue to offer 3 customers 2G network coverage.
As of today, 3 remains the UK's largest 3G network and offers the highest 3G coverage. Orange,T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile customers will have the same 3G network coverage as 3 once all the merging and site organising is complete.
O2 and Vodafone have a long way to catch up to be honest.
