02 3G issues
Morning all,
I'm still having issues with 3G on my iPhone. I'm
getting "cannot connect the cellular network" and 3G drops. Is anyone else having these issues?

Re: 02 3G issues
o2 3G's been rather iffy of late. My colleagues at work have iPhones and routinely they cannot lock on to the 3G network. My o2 PAYG phone (2G) has no problems.

Your call, but remember this. No network is perfect and they're all out to rip you off for as much as they can get away with.

Re: 02 3G issues
Yeah, I understand that every network has it's faults. Just like ISP's etc. However, when i'm paying £63.00 a month on my contract, I expect a certain level of service and it seems the 02 network is so over contended, that I am starting to think. No wonder, why it takes 3 days to get a picture message and it takes 30 second atleast to dial at least. If not more.
Just getting annoying, when I use my iPhone for email for work aswell

Just rang 02 up, to get some more information and they said "the handset is faulty" For goodness sake.

Re: 02 3G issues
I've found the o2 network laughable - it's part of the reason I'll be moving to another network as soon as my contract is up.
3g network drops out so often - I tried to use the spotify app on the handset, but can only listen to 30 seconds of music until it drops out and then won't work again for another 2 hours - and this is in central london

Yeah, in Swindon, exactly the same. Pig sick of it and then the dappy bint on the phone says "my handset is faulty" coz it's off script.

Re: 02 3G issues
I have been having similar trouble for 18+ months. I dont use 3G but I had 3G phones. I kept sending them back, then noticed they worked ok everywhere else but at home. I did tell O2 that but it doesn't fit their scripts. After being a nuisance for a month the advice was revert it to 2G. I did a7 now it works fine.
My problem is that Orange have a large cell setup within 150m of me & I think O2 share it. Either way at home 3G is a big no no.

Re: 02 3G issues
Yup. I was told "nothing is wrong with our network" When I asked about contention the lass said "Not possible" on the o2 network. Then she blammed my handset and told me to drive to Bristol, 45 minutes away to go to an Apple Store. I just said "right" "thanks" hung up.

Re: 02 3G issues
O2 has the worst 3G network in the UK by far, and they aint doing much to improve it. just take a look at the 3G maps and compare it to 3 and Orange.
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomms/i...erage_maps.pdf
I'd cancel the O2 contract, unlock the iPhone and put a 3 SIM card inside.

Yup. Over contended for sure.
Won't touch 3 with a barge poll, my father had a very very bad experience with them.
