Blyk
Quote:
On Blyk you get 217 texts and 43 minutes free every month, and up to 6 messages a day from brands you like. There's no contract and if you want to top up it costs just 10p per text or 15p per minute.

Blyk goes out and finds brands that want to talk to people like you. It charges them for sending you messages, and gives you money back in the form of free texts and minutes.
Anyone heard of this or using them? Any good?

Thumbs down Re: Blyk - mobile network for 16-24 year olds

This is a blatant case of age discrimination and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. lol

Great idea for a lot of young users. However, I can't say I'm too sure how long it'll last...

Re: Blyk - mobile network for 16-24 year olds

I'm using it, its free, why not?

An o2 £10 top-up gives you 50 minutes worth of free calls, this gives you 43 minutes, free - can't wait to see what their top-up tariffs offer, I'll be transferring my number if they are as good as they seem.

Re: Blyk - mobile network for 16-24 year olds

You will soone get fed up of all the spam texts and mms they will be sending you daily! Would not surprise me if it leads to cold calling etc...

Anyway what do you intend to do when you turn 25? Seems a lot of hassle with adverts and porting for the sake of a few minutes!

But enjoy it while it lasts!

Re: Blyk - mobile network for 16-24 year olds

I haven't received any texts regarding advertising yet, even if I did, doesn't bother me too much, I for one still have 5 years and 3 months before I'm 25.

Plenty of time in which alot can happen, who knows if you will be here tomorrow or the day after, as you said, enjoy it while it lasts!

From their manual:

"Members who turn 25 may remain as members until they decide to leave, after which point they cannot join again."

That's odd. I will have to wait and see when I get my sim. Thanks again.

Re: {merged]BLYK Mobile: FREE Txts + Minutes

Beat ya

I've been using Blyk for about a month now and have to say I'm impressed, I don't use many minutes and texts so its really good for me. I don't mind the advertising either. Getting my number ported over soon.
