bt to virgin (home tel. ) problems now

was on bt line and ntl phone line is free .

i tested my coreless digital phone (( bt freelance 2000 3 months old ))
way i did is used my bt line to ring virgin ( pick up on old ntl 1st normal ring ) line sound 100% ok . i use coreless on virgin number no problems.

so to cut £10 a month tranfered number to virgin now PROBLEMS.
(P)=PAUSES (R)+RINGING
now it does
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th rings
(ring) (ring) quick (P) (R) (P) (R) (P) (R)

then i can pick up phone.

i rang 151 got teck man out this morning test on normal phone was working i told him above and said no problem with is phone and went.

any help please.

Have you tried another phone on the line?

try on another vm line one ring and can pick it up.
so my line is cooked!

Well if you can get hold of another phone, plug it into the line and if you get the same fault you are in a good position when you ring in as you can then say....
"No it's not my phone as I have tried a phone which works perfectly elsewhere and the phone showed the same fault when plugged in here". Is anything else plugged into the line? Another phone etc? If so unplug everything except 1 phone and see what happens.

old bt anolog no problems. so line is ok for old wired type.
not paying out for new phones for 4 as set i got cost me £100 ntl type are £100+.
