Sky price hike

Does anyone know if Sky have the same rule as NTL.

IE if they increase there prices you can cancel without penalty if you are still in the first 12 months. As Sky are increasing there prices and i was told my price would not go up in the first 12 months i am annoyed to say the least. I have just had the crappy Sky mag today and in it is the letter informing me they are going against what they told me and will be increasing my subscription " not in so many words but you get the drift i am sure".

I am on the phone at the moment to Sky but have been on hold for 28 Min's so far.

edit

" 35 min's so much for sky's fast times to answer. " Ended up in India and was informed that i will have to pay the increase and that there is no record of the conversation from when i signed up. Told them to get disconnections to phone me asp. Lets see if they phone.

Re: Sky price hike

Try ringing 0800 587 5707-don't press * or # or anything that the recording asks you to, just sit patiently & you will get transferred.

It's not nice ringing an 0870 number at your expense is it?

Don't think so. My multiroom subs are going up by a grand total of 67p a month.

Who the hell were you ringing?!?! Every time I've rung Sky, I've got through to someone up in Scotland or, at the very least, a Scot. Maybe you just happened to get an Indian member of staff -

Probably better than their diabolical Glaswegian call centre. Fortunately as their system seems to work a whole lot better than ntl's, I've never needed to call them since we had the install.

Re: Sky price hike

As far as i know in the Sky contract it says that they can increase your subscrition once in the first 12 months of your contract. Anything after that you then have a right to cancel.
