Sky+
Had sky+ installed at Crimbo.
Had the box replaced a few weeks ago, and tonight, ITV is unwatchable. Its always the same, in our house normal ariels do not work, booster ariels do not work, all our TV has tom be through SKY and we can NEVER watch ITV the pictures stutters, freezes breaks up etc, but the sound is perfect.
No other channel affected, signal strength is fine. Why can we not get ITV how come its ONLY ITV????? always the ****ing same when ITV occasionally carries somehting I want to watch I never can.
Spleen vented!

Re: Sky+
What is "fine" with regard to your signal strength? Also, and more importantly, what does your Signal Quality bar show as being about (% wise).
Also how long is the run between your Sat dish and your Sky box?

Re: Sky+
has the LNB been checked?
What do sky say when you contact them?
Also be worth getting the cables checked in case of weather damage.

Re: Sky+
SKY cant find a fault, LNB was checked and re-aligned about 3 or 4 weeks ago when they decided to swap out the box because we couldnt get any channels at all.
It is raining here and has been all day, but that still doies not explain why only ITV is affected. All channels come down the same two wires from the LNB.
Sky Had me do an LNB reset and that made no difference either, just took ages to find the listings.
My gripe is that its not a weather problem either, as ITV NEVER works properly.
Off the top of my head the signals are minimum of 50% and sit normally at about 70%
Installation only happened on December 29th, and like I said, I cannot receive ANY signal through a terrestrial ariel of any kind.

Re: Sky+
Ours does similar things - as well as the red light on the front seeming to be of only ornamental importance. Sky have swapped the box - twice (but all ****ty Amstrads) and the dish / LNB despite both being fine.
TBH I think it's the box, because the Amstrad ones as i've read elsewhere are the pits.
What use is a PVR that records when it wants to?

I know this might be a dumb question, but you are watching ITV on the Sky box right? By that I mean you haven't switched your TV to ITV, rather than switching your Sky box to 103?
As I said, it may be a dumb question, but just checking.

There is nothing wrong with your equiptment!
It seems there is a problem with ITV broadcasting via sky because I to also have a problem with ITV and we are not the only ones!

Re: Sky+
ITV (Granada) 100% fine here, Wirral, on Pace Sky+ box, model 4.008.
As nffc said, it's the amstrad boxes that give most of the problems, the installer that set ours up refuses to put amstrad boxes in (but Sky themselves seem to use them as first choice?), that's why I paid an independent CAI installer to put our Sky+ in.
