Sky Channels 28.2 E with Hotbird 13.0 E

I currently have a Sky mini dish pointed at 28.2 E , I want to be able to receive Hotbird 13.0 E but don't fancy A) Two dishes or B) Motorized setup. Is it possible to have a dish up with two LNBS one for 28.2 E and the other for 13.0 E , the 28.2 E would need two feeds for my Sky box and a feed to my other room from the 13.0 E LNB. If its possible can you point me in the direction online of the kit needed.

You just need to make a bracket that's 15.2 degrees apart.. Last one I made was a simple piece of pipe about 3 inches long the same diameter of the LNB clamp, I then riveted a cross piece with slots cut in each end, I then used a couple of jubilee clips on some countersunk bolts to act as LNB clamps and used the bolts in the slots to move the LNB's in/out until I had the correct separation.

If you use a quad LNB on the 28.2 then there's no reason as to why you couldn't set up a simple 2 way disecq switch to the FTA box so that it'll pick up both 13 and 28.2 and just feed two 28.2 feeds to the sky box.

If you want to buy the brackets then try an ebay search of "multi lnb bracket" of which they have upto 6 way brackets

You can do it with two LNBs on the dish but my understanding is that for this to work, your set-top box would need to be DiSEqC compliant, and Sky boxes, apparently, are not. So you might end up having to choose a different satellite receiver. Some Freesat boxes support it.

So I could access Hotbird 13.0 on a Freesat box ? I'm interested in a possible sub to Al Jazeera 1-8 , can you set parental control as I believe Hotbird contains FTA Adult channels , not ideal with a youngster.

All Freesat boxes have a 'non Freesat mode'. The mode allows you to manually tune the box into any other channel the dish can collect.

Some Freesat boxes also have the necessary card slot to allow you to add channels that need decrypting.
