BT Vision becomes fastest-growing pay-TV service

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011...ers?CMP=twt_fd

Quote:
BT Vision has become the fastest-growing pay-TV service in the UK, adding more customers in a quarter than BSkyB for the first time since launching more than four years ago.
Quote:
He admitted the growth is obviously from a much smaller base – BT Vision has 638,000 TV customers while BSkyB has more than 10 million and Virgin 3.76 million. Nevertheless, the addition of 41,000 represents a 6% increase on the 598,000 customers BT Vision reported at the end of June.

Yes although they have a huge customer base they definitely are starting to come under more pressure from other providers and that pressure will grow even more.

Re: BT Vision becomes fastest-growing pay-TV service

the trouble with bt vision is that it's freeview with vod, what will happnen when yourview launches (which is freeview with vod)

and anyway virgin media is far far better with great vod, fast internet and 300 channels (which includes fore more hd channels than bt vision, plus sky movies)

---------- Post added at 11:56 ---------- Previous post was at 11:56 ----------

and other thing, bt had a change to create their iptv system to match virgin media, but they blew it

They still have a fair way to go if they are to match Sky's content and Virgins all round package.

Given their financial resources, I wouldn't put it past them.

Sky; Virgin; BT; YouView; YouTube; Netflix.....interesting times ahead.

BT's intetion is to bundle Youview in with it's BB packages. Youview will replace the Freeview aspect of BT Vision.

The only way that competition can be equal is if Sky lose more of it's grip on sports coverage and access to the newer releases of films.
