The colour one has definitely NOT gone up. Pay loads of these on behalf of tenants as part of my job.

i would have thought that paying by dd wouldn't incur an extra charge at least ,alot of companies tend to charge extra for not paying by dd so yes it is a bit of a rip ,that's why i don't use them

The fee has not gone up, you are paying more because you have chosen to pay in 4 quarterly instalments which incur a £1.25 charge every 3 months nothing more, if you want the cheaper price pay in one instalment.

You pay instalments of around £37 every three months. By paying quarterly the majority of your licence is paid for on a pay-as-you-go basis. This differs from our other instalment schemes, where at least half of the licence fee is collected in advance. As a result, quarterly payments incur a small premium of £1.25 per quarter which is included in your payment.

Re: TV Licence gone up??
Even monthly DD only cost £2.94 pa 0.245p pcm. Seems a very steep price for quarterly by comparison.
