My Samsung TV isn't picking up freeview after this weeks software update
I've had my samsung 40" TV about 3 years and it's worked perfect;y. this week it flashed up there was a software download on the DTV (freeview) setting. I clicked download and lost my access completely........... what's happenned - what can i do about it? When I go into the menu the satellite part is greyed out and inactive - I can't see how to re-set it either.......... everything else works including my Virgin Digibox - so the dowmload has obviously done something to my internal to the TV digibox! help - my hubbie prefers the teletext on the freeview!!

Would it not be DTV and not satellite you are looking for?

the DTV gets tuned from the 'satellite' picture in the menu........ this is greyed out and so i cannot re-tune. I'm using the TV's internal freeview box - not my Virgin media one which is fine............. so the problem is with the freeview not picking up the digital feed anymore............ since Wednesday and the re-tune sent automatically by the digital satellite.

on the remote there are 2 menus well there is on mine 1 marked up menu where the sat pic is greyed out then a D MENU where u can select the sat pic hope this helps.
also mine flashed up with it but i did not do the download yet

I'm not being funny........... but i obviously already know how to add channels to the freeview........... I've had the TV 4 years............ it's as if the upgrade has stopped my internal freeview from working altogether or being seen by the digital signal i.e it seems to have killed the thing! Believe me - I know how to operate the control......... but I just can't get the internal freeview to work and can't seem to find any phone numbers for support - the link I posted yesterday telling me about the upgrade doesn't have a 'contact us' section and neither does the samsung site...........

Hi, I am a TV engineer. You need to reset the NVM and restore to factory mode. This involves going into the service menu. However you need to be careful as you can harm your tele doing this if you play with any other settings. If your TV is under warranty then you could invalidate it. To protect Sammy I will not post how to enter service mode although you can google it! If you require further help please PM me and can assist further.

I am having exactly the same problem. And I am facing leaving my wife without a tv when I go out of the country to work next week. Not good.
