BT Vision
Why can't BT Vision offer live TV channels as well? Just like TalkTalk TV?
They have great on demand service, but the only thing lacking is the main pay-tv channels. I'm sure they could do something!
BT must be able to offer a full range of Digital TV services now??? Back in the early noughties, they had a share in BskyB, well now they don't.

Re: BT Vision
Ask BT?
The adverts state that you can get Freeview through the Vision Box...doesn't say anything about paid-for channels

Re: BT Vision
He's probably talking about paid-for live channels on-demand.

Re: BT Vision
Probably the cost they'd have to pass onto the consumer in the form of price increases if they added channels like this.

Re: BT Vision
There would also be the whole agreements thing for them to carry the channels (at cost to BT)...and the CI Slot for Top-up TV

Re: BT Vision
The most likley reason would be cost, and also the kit and resources required to pipe the streams around their entire network reliably.

Yes but standard TV channels is provided through the aerial just like TalkTalk TV and Top up TV.
Its only the on-demand and live updates of the set top box that is dependent on BT's network.

The TalkTalk PVR's can either receive the freeview service via an aerial or via TalkTalk's network if freeview is not available. The remaining pay channels you are referring to have to be distributed through the TalkTalk network with their own EPG. BT would have to do likewise, but to many many more exchanges.
