Au revoir Virgin

So a sales woman from sky knocked on the door trying to get us to join sky, after 20 minutes of talking we decided to join, we're getting sky variety pack with sky movies 2, 20mb broadband (free for 6 months!) and phone for £48 per month, i was paying £38 for the broadband alone!

Very nice an all Frankie, but its not a VM service so no need for it to be in "Virgin Media Internet Services"

Bear in mind Sky is down your phone line, so I'm not sure they can guarantee 20 meg Frankie (i've got sky too).

And its au revoir

Re: Orevwa Virgin

Hehehe, £38 for Broadband, that would include Telephone lines as it's a discount, Good luck with Sky for broadband and support - Virgin aren't much better but there are some decent guys

TV is better, only if you get the HD channels though for the sports.

Realistically you'll probably get around 5.5mb, at best

Phone Virginmedia retentions to see if they can offer a similar deal for the price the Sky rep quoted telling them you have an install date, then cancel the sky install if they can beat/match it

What phone package are/were you on Virgin?

Also for Sky, have you got a standard Sky box, the Sky + Recording box or the Sky HD box?

You know how far the OP is from his phone exchange and how long his BT line is?

Its a sky plus which they are giving us for free

Really? Im on the Sky online builder, and it quotes me as £36 after 6 months for the same package you have described, also for Virgin I get 36.50 for the same package with M+ extra TV which is 5.50 extra, you said you were on the freeview which is free, so that works out to £31.00 before phone bills again.

Personally I'd ask Virgin what's going on, and cancel Sky if you can, even then Sky works out to £36, im sure that there's probably like 1.50 or 2 quid charge for Paper bills, but still that's £10 cheaper per month than your special Sky Sales woman has offered you.
