2 scarts good, 1 scart?

Hello.

It's time for a new TV. Old one (ten year's old) is getting tired.

So, at the moment I have:-

Panasonic DVD recorder
V+ Box
TV

wired together by scarts, including 2 scarts in the current TV.

Many new TVs only have one scart. Is there another way of connecting my kit without losing the current flexibilities I enjoy, or am I stuck looking for a decent (LCD, not too expensive) with 2 scart sockets?

Oh, PS, I also need a headphone socket!

Thanks in advance.

Allen, London.

1-Connect V+ to new TV via HDMI.
2-Connect V+ to DVD Recorder via SCART(For archiving)
3-Connect DVD recorder to TV via SCART, Component or HDMI depending on the DVD Recorder

I would not worry about only having one SCART if you have a V+. Most of the TV's I have seen have a composite video input input as well which you can use with SCART using a simple converter cable.

Away you go.

Thanks Hedgie. I was forgetting the HDMI (never having used one).

Oddly enough, the headphone socket is getting to be a rarity, for some odd reason.

I will keep looking.

All the current Panasonic LCD TV's have 2 scarts, along with 2/3 HDMI, Component and composite inputs. Most also have headphone sockets if thats a requirement.

Nodrogd - thanks for that, it will help a lot, as searching through the technical specs of every sodding tele on Comet, or Dixons, or Amazon (and on and on) ain't half a pain.
Thanks again.
