not sure if this is in the correct post :

Arqiva: 'VOD platform to be called SeeSaw'

Arqiva has confirmed that its new video on demand platform, which is based on technology from the collapsed Project Kangaroo, will be called SeeSaw.

Back in August, the transmission firm completed its legal acquisition of technology developed for the ill-fated BBC, ITV and Channel 4 joint venture, which was blocked by the Competition Commission.

Pierre-Jean Sebert, who was recently hired to act as chief executive for the new initiative, has now confirmed widespread rumours that the service will be called SeeSaw. This chosen branding for the platform is the same as was widely speculated for Kangaroo's commercial launch before it was aborted.

"We're delighted to confirm the name of SeeSaw for Arqiva's VOD service," said Sebert.

"The project is on track to launch to market within the next few months. We will announce further details of the service in due course."

When it launches, SeeSaw will host a variety of free-to-air and pay TV content from broadcasters and independent providers.

Channel 4 and BBC Worldwide are already thought to have agreed content deals with the platform. More programming deals are expected to be announced imminently.

Arqiva chief executive Tom Bennie recently said that it would be a "missed opportunity" if SeeSaw does not work, but the failure would not break the company due to its healthy infrastructure sales of around £800m a year.

What do you think about this ?

All the effort now appears to be directed toward YouView and an STB based service. The technical spec for the kit was released in April.
