Where is half my picture

I recorded 633 Squadron this morning from my Sky box through my HDD/DVD recorder.

The picture only occupies about half the screen losing a quarter top and bottom. I still have the annoying "WHAT'S ON" logo in the black top half so there is a full pic somewhere.

What has happened? What can I do to watch the film without having to look through a letterbox. All other programs are fine, but I am sure this classic was filmed in the traditional 4:3.

I feel I have been robbed!

Have you tried adjusting the widescreen settings on your TV, as if it is on auto it might try and turn a 4:3 picture into a 16:9 picture
