Need help for how to cancel Sky!!!

Hello all,

I have moved home and the landlord at the new place does not allow me to put a satellite dish. So I cannot reconnect sky. Can anyone please tell me how do I deal with this and how can I cancel sky services and get away without paying much charges?

Also what is valid contractually in such a case?

Any help will really be appreciated.

Cheers

Re: Need help for how to cancel Sky!!!

,

Are you still in a 12 month contract with Sky? You have to give them 30 days notice so the cancellation wont have immediate effect.

You will need to give notice as above and if you are within the 12 months they can ask you to pay out the contractual period. It's not Skys' fault you cannot put a dish up at your new location. Also you should have told them before you moved and not afterwards, may have saved a lot of issues.

Just out of curiosity, can't you have a minidish installed in the loft and will it work?

Re: Need help for how to cancel Sky!!!

It depends on the rental agreement they signed some landlords wont allow any changes by the tenant at all. Even wallpaper or a cooker, Changes to any thing must be via the landlord or controlling rental company alone. This does mean the tenant does not pay to Fix things ether, but also means they can be broken for a long time.
