Satcover??

Not related to Virgin but sky...was with sky for some years then decided to go with Virgin media back in 2007 having used it for years when staying with my brother.

Just seen that I had a DD come out today for Satcover for £12. I dont know who these are and never setup any DD with them.

Looked around the net and found 100's of people have had the same problem with different amounts taken out by DD more recently over the last 2 weeks.

Just a warning for people to keep a look out for those that have been with SKY and come over to virgin in the last few years and also for those that have never been with SKY.

Will be contacting my bank tomorrow to try and sort something out.

Re: Satcover??

Since we have a forum for Other Digital TV, and it has nothing to do with Virgin, thread moved

Satcover is nothing to do with Sky at all.

Re: Satcover??

After having problems with DD lately I can only suggest that you do the following

1# Check with the bank as to what DD's are set up on your account, if SATCOVER is there cancell it immediately
2# Inform the bank that the DD's already taken out by satcover are unauthorised as the DD gaurentee states that if the originator or the bank has made an error (delibrately or not) then the DD will be immediately paid back in full.

Re: Satcover??

My partner had SKY through SKY and for some reason Satcover have got hold of or sky have released detials of their customers to a 3rd party e.g contractor has she has never been with sat cover.

We have now been with Virgin for around 2 years all accounts and DD were closed with SKY after going with Virgin. However after looking around the net especially the last 2 weeks this company who at somepoint seem related to SKY in someway has started taking DD from peoples accounts.

The only thing I can think of is that I wasn't with my partner when she signed upto SKY and can only assume it was SKY she signed a contract with and not sat cover. some have said that satcover posed as SKY. will have to have a look at some old paper work and see if I can see any that relate to SKY and hope it hasn't been thrown.

I posted this as a warning to any others on here just to check and keep an eye on there bank accounts if they have or still are on sky for one thing or another.

I've always used NTL/Virgin and managed to convince my partner over to them when I met her

Re: Satcover??

Yes, unfortunately repeat payments authorised on a debit card are a lot harder to keep track of, or to stop. I'm always wary of any service provider that wants to retain my card details for such a purpose.

Sandlmum, it sounds like you just found this out the hard way - have you had any help from your bank?
