Sky3 issues..

For some reason I've been unable to watch sky3. It was fine until this morning. All I get now when I try to watch that station is the message 'no satellite signal is being received'. Does anyone know what's going on? Every other channel is fine.

I didn't think anyone watched Sky3 ... I've just checked, and mine is fine. Is your viewing card inserted properly?

Re: Sky3 issues..

Lol. I'm the only person who watches it. ..yeah, card is in properly, cables and stuff are all ok. I get freesat if that helps. Every other channel is fine. If it was a signal issue then other channels would be affected too right?

Re: Sky3 issues..

Yes, satellite transmissions are multiplexed same as cable and Freeview. If Sky3 has gone missing, then a handful of others should have as well. But unlike cable, which distributes regionally, there is only one satellite signal for the whole UK. So if there really was a problem with the multiplex that carries Sky3, everyone would be experiencing it, not just you.

When you say Freesat, I assume you mean FreesatfromSky, as a proper Freesat box does not have a viewing card?

Yes. Freesat from sky. Sky box with a freesat card. ...just checked all my other channels, sky3 is the only one that's out. Re-inserted my card. Turned off the box. All the usual things. No joy. Is it a problem with the box do you think?

Re: Sky3 issues..

Try switching off at the wall and then re-booting it (not with your feet - lol)

otherwise try it on someone elses dish feed to prove if its the box or the dish.

or try someone elses digibox on your dish feed to prove the point.

all the best.

Re: Sky3 issues..

Ok. Took my box to my neighbour's house. Wired it up there. Still the same problem. So I guess this means the problem is with my box. Damn. Lol. Still think its weird that its only one channel.

Re: Sky3 issues..

Don't give up, i seem to remember having a similar problem with Setanta sports...got all but one of the channels and after much ringing around it turned out that the card had to be re-authorised.
So now that you have proved that its not the dish or cable you need to see if it's the card or the digibox. I suggest you give Freesat a ring and ask them to reactivate the card.

All the best
