conecting samsung equipment

I have just bought blue ray player, tv, home cinema and free sat box . Have three hdmi cables and a twin phono to phono cable. I want to make sure that the blue ray and tv all go through the home theatre so that I get surround sound. How do I wire it please?\r\n
I think I may need an optical cable - is that correct?
I know nothing about this subject so please be gentle with me!

we'll need to know the make & model number of the 'home cinema' - some of them take coax/RCA type connectors, some optical connectors & some both.

Re: conecting samsung equipment

How you can connect all this will depend on what connection options your TV / home theatre offer.

If your home theatre has multiple input HDMI and an output then simply connect the HMDI from the blue ray, and free sat to the theatre and HDMI out to the TV.

Better sound will often be obtained by optical lead. If your theatre allows that then connect the optical from the Blue Ray and Free Sat (if they both allow it) to the theatre and HDMI from Blue Ray and Freesat direct to the TV.
