A No Brainer?

Currently paying 70£ for TVXL, BBXL and Telephone XL - NO HD (as we know).

Sky are offering the following:

Code:
New Sky TV Customers

You'll enjoy up to 33 stunning HD channels with the HD Pack for just £9.75 extra a month. Plus enjoy one month's HD Pack for free when you buy online.

Plus, we'll give you 12 months' free Sky Talk Line Rental (otherwise £10 a month) if you join Sky TV, and take a Sky+HD package and a Sky Talk package before 14 May.
The above amounts to a one off payment of 49£ for the HD Box and then monthly payments of £31.25 for all the channels bar Movies and sports and the telephone calls are only free for evenings and weekends.

What ya reckon!

Re: A No Brainer??

Have you factored the cost of broadband and line rental?
+ £12 for Setanta (+ £3 for each additional box)
What broadband speed is your phone line likely to achieve?

Re: A No Brainer??

or do you have to pay extra for "No satellite signal" blue screen that I had to endure for over an hour at the inlaws yesterday.

I think I still prefer football in SD to a nice no signal message in any definition.

Re: A No Brainer??

The broadband is included as is the line rental (well free for 12 months anyway). We all know that VM cannot be beaten for VOD or BBCi player stylee stuff. When I was on BE before VM I got 17meg out of the 24 I was paying for down the BT line. I don't watch sports - think I have used Setanta twice since it was included!

Re: A No Brainer?

lol tbh I don't know - I have emailed them to establish why!

I feel violated! ROFL

Still Sky appears to be a good deal but I will miss the BBCi Player and even though I don't use it a lot the VOD stuff.
