DVB + Setanta and Sky Sport.

I have a Cable TV contract which supplies Setanta Free. I also subscribe to receve Sky Sport Channels.
As I get excelent reception on DVB with my current TV, is it posible to pay only for Setanta and Sky Sport channels without having to pay for the Cable contract?

Re: DVB + Setanta and Sky Sport.

On digital terrestrial you only get 1 setanta channel compared to the 6 on Virgin. Also only Sky Sports News is available. As far as I know from the cable side, Setanta is not available as a standalone pack and Sports/Movies have to be taken with at least the "M" package, which includes all the freeview channels anyway.

Re: DVB + Setanta and Sky Sport.

Thanks, nodrogd. All Setanta channels come free with Virgin Media XL and you can subscribe for the basic Sky channels, without interactive or HD. I was just wondering if I could get these channels without having to pay for freewiew. I can get a card to slot into my TV for Setanta, at about £11 per month, but I am doubtful about Sky Sport.

Re: DVB + Setanta and Sky Sport.

Just had a look on VM website.

Setanta sports ARE available as an add on if you are not on the XL pack. Link HERE

As I already stated you need to remain subscribed to VM's "M" pack to receive Setanta and Sky Sports.

Only sky sports news is available on terrestrial DVB.

Re: DVB + Setanta and Sky Sport.

I am already with VM XL so I have setanta, and I subscribe to the basic Sky Sport. It seems a pity that I have to subscribe to VM or Sky in order to obtain Sky Channels, When I have the dvb channels for free.
