Has anyone else with Sky TV had problems where the picture keeps defaulting the the 4:3 size?

I always have the TV Setting on wide and on the Sky Services setup it is on 16:9.

It used to always default to 4:3 on a few channels like Military History and one of the music channels (can't remember which one) but now it seems to do it on almost all Sky Channels.

BBC 1, 2, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 are okay and stay on the 16:9 size but when you flick onto a Sky Channel it defaults to 4:3

Unsure if it is my TV suffering from some form of, "I'm getting old so best go buy a new one." Or if Sky have changed the way they broadcast the signal or something?

Re: Picture Size

Hi,

There are lots of channels still not broadcast in 16:9, most of the music channels are still 4:3, only a few, 4 Music, Flaunt and a couple of others, are broadcast in 16:9

Pretty much everything on BBC ITV etc is now broadcast in 16:9, even old 4:3 programs but with black bars down the sides rather than the top & bottom.

Even on channels like Sky1 where a lot is now 16:9 some of the programmes are still 4:3.
I can see this on my TV if for example, watching The Simpsons on Sky1 and the ads come on my TV will switch to "Wide" and back to "Auto" when then Simpsons comes back on.

Re: Picture Size

Yeah, I noticed when the adverts come on the picture suddenly goes to 16:9 then back to 4:3

It has been okay today, will see how it goes and just cope with it if it carries on as I can change it to 16:9 via the TV's own remote but as soon as you change channel it goes back to 4:3

Thanks...
