Getting ITV HD On Sky System

Given that the new FreeSAT system will apparently give exclusive access to ITV HD, I wondered if it was possible to key in details using the "Add Additional Channels" feature and see the channel that way?

I know, according to some forums, that some users using DVB-S cards and appropriate software have apparently managed to do it.Just wondered if a Sky System could do the same.

Any useful information would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

loads of sat receivers can pick this channel up , indeed there are cards for the pc that will decode this . As the other posters have stated though . There is no way of scanning this channel on a sky HD box.
Its a shame as the picture quality of the HD version of the football is so so so much better than the SD varient.
To correct the above statement .
ITV HD is a seperate channel and can therefore be scanned and saved on a non sky sat receiver
the frequency is
EuroBird 1 (28.5E) - 11426.00 H - Txp: C5 - Beam: Steerable 1 DVB-S (QPSK) - 27500 2/3 - NID:59 - TID:2315

Thanks for that, Solventcandy. I had hoped that some techie might have come up with a workaround.

Quite a few cards use this "FEC - autodetect" feature and permit users to input other technical data e.g. Video PID,Audio PID which unfortunately seems to be not possible on the SKY box unless there is a hidden menu somewhere.

I'll just have to hope that the IT Guys at SKY come up with an update that permits this to happen, which would obviate the need to buy a separate FreeSAT box.
