Connection help plz

HI there - Not sure if this is posted in the right place but I'm looking for advice onthe correct cables to use for my set up.

I've got a Sky+ box (not HD), a DVD player, PS2 and Nintendo Wii.

They are all going to be connected to a Sharp Aquos LCD TV. They will no be close to each other and thereforee can I cut down on the number of cable running from the devices to the TV using some kind of switch or is it better to send all the cables to the TV independently?

I'm also unsure as to whether the composite cables or scart are better for the job,

Hope you understand what I'm looking for and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi ste69,

You can buy boxes with multiple SCART in and one scart out. This will mean that you can position your equipment further away from the TV, but you will have to switch over the SCART inputs every time you want to use the Sky+/DVD/etc. The disadvantage is that you have a single point of failiure on the SCART to the TV.

If your TV supports HD then you might be able to get HD over composite. In my opinion, SCART is a better technology as it will carry both sound and video(composite doesn't). SCART is also quite intelligent, and on some tvs can get the tv to change over to the input channels.
