Sky One renamed Simpsons TV

But from August 31.
Sky One to be renamed Sky 1
Sky Two to be renamed Sky 2
Sky Three to be renamed Sky 3.

What a great marketing ploy.
I must have those channels, NOW!!!!!
The rebranding only works in print - if you said "Have you heard? Sky One is now called Sky 1!".
Tends to lose something there...........

Bizarre, the BBC went the other way with BBC One (previously BBC1) only a few years ago.
I wish these marketing types would make up their minds. Which is better - 1 or One?

I remember a cable firm paying a lot to use a reasonably well respected Company name. Didn't work so well for them either.

Yes they did
Back in 1996/1997 before Sky Digital

But the old Sky 2 was on air from 7pm - 6am and the show called ''Hit Mix Long Play'' was on for SIX hours from Midnight - 6am. Then Fox Kids (Now Jetix) started.
Did you know?: The old Sky 2 only lasted ONE YEAR before Nat. Geo started broadcast using the Old Sky 2 hours. Also when Sky 2 started up the first time Sky One was called Sky 1 for that year as well.

Why not rename every TV channel to "The Adverts" they could have a nice little jingle, something like... Thhhhe Sssimpsonsss, but Thhhhe Aadverrtsss.
