!!Stuck with sky!!
I Have been a happy virgin media customer for 4 years now and today my services got disconnected as i have moved out of the cable area. i got sky digital installed yesterday morning and it wasnt a great start as there was a church blocking the way of the satalite signal so he has had to put the dish on the opposite side of the house and now i have ugly black wires everywhere then due to the bank holiday weekend i hadnt recieved my viewing card so i spent my first 24 hrs with sky watchin itv couldnt even get channel 4 or five. i got my channels activated today tho an i must admit really happy i have sky 1 again and most of the channels are good.just wondering if anybody else had an expirence such as this when joinig sky.
btw if i got my services installed yesterday does anybody have an idea when my first bill will be produced
also
do sky charge on month in advance like virgin
thanks

? how is it Sky's fault that theres a church blocking your line of site ? also if the viewing card was sent via Royal Mail, then you cant blame Sky as no one gets post on a bank holiday. which isint something new at all its been that way for years.

Re: !!Stuck with sky!!
Your first bill will be taken approx 2 weeks from the date of install. Seeing as you pay a month in advance, the first bill will be the 2 weeks you have already watched and the following month.

Re: !!Stuck with sky!!
Well if you still don't like Sky and depending on what you require, these are options:
Tiscali TV,Phone and ADSL Broadband:
If you live in Greater London or Stevenage in Hertfordshie, then Tiscali TV full service is available (Formerly Homechoice) plus cheap phone service and broadband internet.
If you live outside those areas, then Tiscali basic TV which is similar to BT Vision is available. Remember that Tiscali phone is cheaper than Sky Talk and BT.
Virgin Media also provide ADSL Broadband and cheap phone cheaper than their Cable phone service, they also offer freeview service with that.
BT offer Phone and Broadband and additionally BT Vision which is also freeview dependent but alot of content isnt.
If you live round Morecombe,Carisle,Souhern Glasgow and a few other places in Scotland and Northern England, then SmallWorld Media serve your area and offer the same Cable services as Virgin Media and also I think Sky basic channels are still available too.
If you live on the Isle of white, then your local Cable company is White Cable.
Tiscali,BT Vision and Virgin Media-offnet are subject to regional availability and BT line is required.

Re: !!Stuck with sky!!
Cool, well the information is there if you or anyone else needs it. Thats one thing I dread when moving house! Whether the same services are gonna be available. I mean you might have all 3 Virgin services and suddenly you move to an area where only Analogue is available and learn that Virgin phone is also not available like Milton Keynes.

Re: !!Stuck with sky!!
erm, he is unhappy about the "ugly black wires" - I don't see where he blames Sky for the church being in the way.

Re: !!Stuck with sky!!
cuz he said that he had to have his dish on the other side of the house, which he seemed to be unhappy about.
